Women in hats—this was one of Picasso’s favorite themes, and he created many variations of it, particularly in the winter of 1961/62, from which this charming linocut dates. In fact, there are two other drawings from the same January day in 1962 that are quite similar to this one. They are all based, most likely, on his wife Jacqueline.
This is a museum print of the original linocut, on very thick, high quality paper. It was made by Triton Press, a NY based company that specialized, in the middle of the 20th century, in museum quality prints of works by masters. The print is in perfect condition, and the matting and metal framing are in excellent condition as well. A nice piece of genuinely mid-century wall art.
